Attics to play theme music for new series of ‘Minder’

January 7th, 2009

Happy New Year Attic Folk!

As you may have heard Channel Five have made a new updated version of the old 80’s classic ‘Minder’ which will be aired in early February and the Attics have re-recorded a version of the iconic theme song ‘I Could Be So Good For You’ to be used as the theme tune.

The song was originally recorded by Dennis Waterman for the original series in the ‘80’s, the Attic’s version will be available digitally from January 12th 2009 with a full release on February 16th on Island Records.

“We wanted to use the original theme tune to show that the roots of the new series are very much set in the original, but it needed to be updated for modern times,” commented series producer Sean O’Connor. “Attic Lights are a fantastic new band, who have hit just the right note with the new theme. Minder is one of the British comedy drama greats, and we want to satisfy fans of the early series, but have also added different elements this time round to excite new viewers.”

The new six-part series of Minder stars Shane Richie as Archie Daley (Arthur Daley’s nephew) and Lex Shrapnel as ‘minder’ Jamie, both of whom appear in the video for the single.
